We aim to respond to referrals within 2 working days, or sooner. If a Specialist requires further information, the GP will be asked to respond within 3 weeks so that the definitive advice can be given. This 3 week period is to ensure clinical safety and that patients do not wait too long for further management. If no response has been received within three weeks, the Specialist will respond to the original referral based on the information provided, indicating the missing information.
